COVID-19 Update

To Our Patients:

At Great Lakes Foot and Ankle your health and well-being are our primary concern. Therefore, we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 virus situation, commonly known as “coronavirus”. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities and governmental agencies who are on the front line working to contain this virus.

At this moment, our offices remain open for our patients that need us during this difficult time. We are taking every precaution possible to ensure the health and safety of every patient, and our staff members.

We have arranged tele-medicine options with all of our doctors for patients that do not need to be seen in our offices. Please contact our office and we will arrange for you to be seen by your doctor from the comfort and
safety of your own home.

Below are the protocols we have put in place to help ensure the health of any patient that does have an urgent or emergent issue and needs to be seen in the office.

  1.  Screening the health of staff members and patients before they are allowed to enter the building, including a temperature screening.
  2. Ensuring that patients who visit our facilities take additional sanitary actions, including washing their hands prior to going into a consult rooms.
  3. Increased frequency in disinfecting all surfaces and floors in between patient encounters and in waiting rooms.
  4. Documenting cleaning processes to ensure completeness and accuracy.

What You Can Do:

We encourage you to practice safety measures at home and when you are at the clinic. Elderly patients and patients with compromised immune systems are at high risk for complications and should consider rescheduling their non urgent appointments. Everyone should use discretion in public places, and promptly seek treatment if symptoms develop. Wash your hands with soap and water frequently, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or your elbow if you have to sneeze or cough and avoid touching your face. If you are
experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness, fever, cough, shortness of breath or fatigue, please stay home. We will be happy to reschedule your appointment for a later date.

We want you to know the safety of our patients is our top priority. This is a unique and challenging situation, but we remain prepared and committed to providing exceptional patient care to all our patients.

Please make sure to familiarize yourself with information directly from reputable health sources, such as the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov). If you have any questions, please call us at (586) 257-1420 for Michigan inquiries and (708) 478-9956 for Illinois inquiries.

Thank you for putting your trust in us!
